Microneedling

WITH LED LIGHT THERAPY

Overview

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. Microneedling with LED Light Therapy is a combination skincare treatment that integrates Microneedling, a minimally invasive procedure using tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, with LED (Light Emitting Diode) Light Therapy. This combined approach aims to enhance collagen production, improve skin texture, and address various skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. Microneedling creates microchannels in the skin, allowing for better absorption of topical products, while LED Light Therapy complements the process by promoting healing and reducing inflammation.

From treating the tell-tale signs of ageing to improving scarring, stretch marks, pigmentation or acne scarring, the answer to all these concerns is Microneedling. Microneedling involves causing controlled injury to the skin using very fine needles over the skin and piercing the surface which in turn then encourages the natural healing process to kick in, the skin to repair itself and in the process stimulates collagen and elastin which we lose at a dramatic rate from the ages of 25+. This combined with the infusion of topical skin products results in thicker, plumper, younger and stronger skin. Microneedling results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks. The treatment is combined with a vitamin-rich serum topical treatments.

Treatment

During your treatment, the device consisting of tiny needles is carefully moved over areas of the skin. The micro-piercings created by the device stimulate production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Your skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis (inner skin layer) with a softening and reduction in scarring, pigmentation and lines and wrinkles. By creating superficial micro-channels which allow customised nutrient serums, to be absorbed more effectively into the skin, enhancing treatment outcomes.

At your appointment we will start by cleansing the skin and applying a topical numbing cream 30 minutes before starting treatment. Your technician will then adjust the speed and depth of the reciprocating needle tip for optimal results and to minimise any discomfort. After the treatment we apply a cooling stem cell mask to soothe and infuse the skin with more nutrients and then a topical serum is applied before you leave.

LED Light Therapy is always included which we find compliments this process by providing extra collagen stimulation and anti-bacterial protection. The combination of these two modalities is believed to enhance the overall efficacy of the treatment. The procedure may vary in intensity and depth based on individual skin concerns.

Post Treatment

Immediately after your microneedling treatment your skin may appear slightly red. The topical serum applied at the end of your treatment will help control any minor bleeding and will increase absorption of the cosmeceutical solution. The total healing time depends on the depth of needles used and the number of overlapping passes. On average, patients experience mild redness and swelling for two to four days. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.

Reward

The combined Microneedling with LED Light Therapy offers several rewards. Microneedling promotes collagen and elastin production, resulting in improved skin firmness, reduced fine lines, and enhanced overall texture. The micro-injuries created during Microneedling also allow for better absorption of topical serums and skincare products, maximising their effectiveness. LED Light Therapy contributes to the reduction of redness and inflammation post-microneedling, promoting faster healing and recovery. The synergistic effects of these treatments often lead to a more radiant complexion, improved skin tone, and diminished signs of ageing.
